Beaumaris Football Club is proud to support AFL Victoria’s inaugural Sit Down Round across the weekend of May 16–17, 2026.

Originally introduced in South Australian in 2024, Sit Down Round was created to help improve the match day environment for players, coaches, volunteers, umpires, and families by promoting positive behaviours around the ground.

Throughout Sit Down Round, all coaches, runners, bench staff, volunteers and supporters are encouraged to remain seated where possible and support our players in a calm, respectful and encouraging manner from outside the interchange area.

At BFC, we believe junior football should be a positive experience for everyone involved. Passion and energy are a huge part of our game, but so too are respect, sportsmanship, and creating an environment where kids can enjoy their footy and develop with confidence.

This initiative is a reminder that while competitive spirit is important, behaviours such as abuse, aggressive commentary and negative interactions from the sidelines have no place in junior football.

We encourage all Beaumaris families, players, coaches, and supporters to get behind Sit Down Round and help create a positive and welcoming atmosphere across all games this weekend.
